The `Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn` will be made into two films
Summit Entertainment confirmed the final instalment of the vampire movie franchise - which stars Robert Pattinson as vampire Edward Cullen and Kristen Stewart as his girlfriend Bella Swan - will be split into two separate projects.
A statement read: "Summit Entertainment have confirmed `The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn` will be released as two separate films with the first of the two slated to be released in theatres on November 18, 2011.
"The project, based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer`s `Twilight` series, is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer producing. `The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn` will start production in the fall."
Earlier this week, Robert Pattinson joked about the sex scenes in `Breaking Dawn`, claiming it could become a "hardcore saga for adults".
He said: "Bella becomes a vampire in this movie. We get married and sleep together. I haven`t read the script yet but I`m sure it`ll be good.
"I`m wondering how they will be able to translate this on screen. We`ll end up with an R-rated movie. Can you imagine if we decided to go in and turn `Twilight` into a hardcore saga for adults with sex scenes and everything?"
